Former East End Lions forward Atto Mensah, now a coach, has arrived in London to grace the Sierra Leone Football.com awards night and 5th anniversary celebration due to take place on Saturday.

The Ghanaian-born is among 14 ex-Sierra Leonean Internationals to be recognised in the event for their services rendered to the sports of football in Sierra Leone.

"It's an honour that after all these years I'm still remembered as a major factor in Sierra Leone football," Mensah told Sierra Leone Football.com.

He added: "I'm proud to be a recipient of the prestigious award and to be part of the 5th anniversary celebration of Sierra Leone Football.com."

"I appreciate Sierra Leone football.com for giving out awards and my advice to the younger players is to keep on doing their best because they may be one day rewarded like me."

The event has attracted lot from United Kingdom and beyond.

Mensah joined East End Lions in 1980 alongside other Ghanaian players Simons Awuwa, Philip Buckman and goal Keeper Thomas Jacobs.

The quartet arrrived at the club shortly after three other Ghanaians Ben Morthy, Kofi Nti and goal Keeper Fargo had joined the club.
